Teach The Principles

The Gospel applied to sport, experienced through sport and spoken in the language of sport.

GOD. LIFE. SPORT.

Welcome to AIA Principles Speaker Training on Demand. In the 5 sessions below, we are going to help you better understand the AIA Principles of faith & sport. These principles are part of a unique curriculum developed by our Athletes in Action staff over the last 45 years, and will give you a Biblical framework to help you see sport as an opportunity to worship God, so that you can participate in sport in a way that honors Him. Our goal for this teacher training course is to help you learn to better integrate these Principles into your own life, so that you can be more effective at teaching these Principles to others. Whether you’re an athlete, a coach, a chaplain, or an AIA staff member who wants to teach these Principles, this training is for you. It will help you teach them one-on-one, or in a small group setting, or in a large group setting like at one of our AIA experiences.

This is a self-guided training course that you can do at your own pace. We recommend that you go through the Principles in numerical order from 1 to 5. For each Principle you will see some links to download the Principle Grid, Teacher notes and Student Notes for each talk.

  • The Principle Grids will give you a basic outline of what each Principle is about.
  • The Teacher Notes will give you the thought by thought script for each talk.
  • The Student Notes will show you what you would hand out to your future audiences, so they can take notes and fill in the blanks as you teach them.

*Download each of these documents before you watch the Principle Talk video so that you can follow along.

We also offer in-person Principle Speaker Training Conferences where you can get a more complete understanding of these Principles through live training and group interaction. Scroll to the bottom of this page for more information about upcoming conferences.
