Romans 15:13 is quite a prayer! Here’s the breakdown:

HOPE IS A PERSON. It’s God, not a circumstance. It’s found in Him. That’s how He is to be known, seen, embraced. Hope starts here and ends here. Looking elsewhere will disappoint. 

THE EVIDENCE OF HOPE IS JOY AND PEACE. When you have joy and peace you know you are filled with hope. This duo always accompanies true hope.

TRUST IS THE FRONT PORCH, the way we enter into the House of Hope. No trust. No hope. We enter into Hope when we trust God. 

OVERFLOWING HOPE IS GOD’S GOAL. He wants to bring us more hope than we could imagine. He longs to take our hope over-the-top, filling it to the brim over and over. He keeps our hope going all through the year, regardless of earthly circumstance. And He gives us a ton so that we can give it freely to others too. 

THE AGENT OF HOPE IS THE HOLY SPIRIT. Like a FedEx delivery guy, the Spirit of God faithfully delivers hope every day. So answer the doorbell. The hope truck is there.
