Romans 1:16 (ESV)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
I can only imagine — God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, eternal life, heaven, treasures, crowns, white robes of righteousness, a wedding feast, a sea of glass, multitudes singing, worship …
What will I do when I see Jesus face-to-face? What will you do?
Recently, I enjoyed watching the new movie “I Can Only Imagine.”
It tells the true story of how a young musician wrote this epic Christian song of the same name as the movie.
I doubt if you remember when this powerful song was first released, but I do!
The melody and lyrics were so powerful, they captured the passion of my faith and made me long for my heavenly home.
Well, the movie proved powerful too, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the theater!
While the story of rags to riches, young love, and good vs. evil makes for an impactful plot, I was once again reminded of the beauty, simplicity and power of the gospel.
Fellow Heirs, we get to imagine our heavenly homecoming because our loving God had a plan.
Jesus came to earth, hung on a cross, shed His blood, died, took away my sins, was buried, rose again, ascended to heaven, sent us His Holy Spirit … and Jesus is coming again!
I can only imagine!
