Athlete, Change is Guaranteed

Proverbs 3:5,6 (ESV)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
There are only a few things in life that are guaranteed, and CHANGE is one of them. No matter how hard you try, no matter the amount of effort or focus, no matter the energy you put into trying to control it or keep it from occurring — change will always happen.
At the very least, you can limit change or tell yourself that you are limiting change. You could hide in the corner and hope that it doesn’t come around. But, at the end of the day, change is there knocking at your door, moving you to your next destination.
So how do we harness, grab onto, leverage change? How does one navigate change effectively and successfully? Proverbs 3:5,6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”
Trust is at the heart of change. Without trust, we view change through a lens of fear and the unknown. In reality, trust is what keeps our hopes and dreams alive!
Change is what gives us the opportunities in life to grow, develop and be who God has created us to be. Without change there would be no hope of what could be or where we could go or how God could use us to impact eternity.
Change is what allows us to dream dreams. Again, we need to see change as an opportunity, rather than an obstacle. Trust in the Lord is what gives stability and strength, and as the proverb states, makes our paths straight.
Trust in what’s to come. Trust in how you are created, what the Lord has entrusted you to use for His glory and kingdom. And most importantly, trust in the Creator who holds all things.
Trust in the One who sees you at your best and your worst. Trust in the One who knows your fears, mistakes and flaws, yet presses ever closer still. Trust in the One who created you with purpose and intentionality!
You can’t control this world and what happens in it. But you can control yourself and where you place your trust. What or who you trust is your choice; so put your trust in the Lord!
