Drink This Up

37,38  “On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘Let anyone who is thirsty come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.’”

John 7:37,38 (NIV)

Feeling a bit thirsty? More thirsty than you thought? Most of us are. Jesus brings some amazingly replenishing words; let's take a look at them. Observe the following from today's Scripture:

BETTER BEVERAGE: The drink to drink is the one that fully satisfies. That better beverage has been manufactured and is available. The only cost is the exercise of our faith.

PERSONAL BEVERAGE: The best beverage is a Person, not a fluid. Drink Him. He calls Himself “Living Water.”

POWERFUL BEVERAGE: Believe Jesus, and His Spirit comes. Drink up Jesus, and His Spirit flows (John 7:39). That's a lot of power unleashed!

STREAMS INSIDE: Something happens when we drink up a Person. An amazing underground stream forms in us when we believe and follow Him. It supports us for a lifetime.

Endless hydration!

RIVER OUTSIDE: The Bible says that living water can not only flow IN someone but also FROM someone. Imagine living a life where you consistently help keep others alive and well too.

How satisfying and fulfilling is that!

It all starts with a plenty good drink of Jesus. That’s what He says. Believe Him and have a life-giving gulp today.

Reflect: Is your soul thirsty? Who's your fountain? What all are you believing Jesus for, really? Are you offering others a better beverage?

A prayer to consider: Jesus, keep flooding my soul. Soak me but good. Fill me up today. May Your living water flow in me and through me to an ever-thirsty world.

I drink from You. I drink to You! I drink You up. Living Water tastes so good. Abundant thanks! Amen.

FYI, today's meditation is all about a THIRST ACKNOWLEDGED. Once we acknowledge our thirst, drinking quickly follows. We find a way to drink.

Dehydration happens when we don't notice our fluid level is low. We ignore the warning signals like a basketball player who doesn't see a trap coming.
